Company History

From 2010 to 2022, we specialized in reconditioning lead-acid batteries using technology by Battery Doctors. While we no longer offer reconditioning services, we now provide coast-to-coast distribution of industry-leading batteries, all backed by our lowest price guarantee.

Thunder Battery is a subsidiary company of Lakehead Inkjet & Toner Corporation. Since the early 2000s to 2025, Lakehead Inkjet & Toner was Thunder Bay's preferred choice for ink cartridge refills. Although refill services are no longer available, they continue to supply OEM and Fuzion compatible imaging products nationwide, with the same competitive pricing and reliability their customers have come to expect.

Unlike traditional retail stores, we operate from a compact 850 sq. ft. location, with additional inventory stored in our basement stockroom. Instead of large aisles and expensive retail displays, we maintain a simple showroom featuring our most popular products. This efficient setup allows us to focus on what matters most: delivering the best value to our customers.

Our smaller footprint also helps us turn over inventory quickly. By avoiding overstocking and reducing aging product in storage, we keep inventory fresh and costs down.

We also eliminate one of the biggest expenses many businesses face: lease payments. On top of that, the owner is on-site every day and personally manages operations, which eliminates staffing costs.

By minimizing overhead across space, rent, payroll, and inventory, we significantly reduce operating expenses — and we pass those savings directly on to you.

Enjoy flexible pickup from two Thunder Bay locations, available 7 days a week from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. We also offer pick up at any Magnacharge location in Canada (over 20 available) on their products. Please reach out to us if you do not see your closest Magnacharge location during the checkout process.
