Batteries
Thunder Battery's Liability
Thunder Battery's liability is limited to replacement of the battery in accordance with the provisions below. However, we will not be liable for any installation fees, loss of time or any other consequential damages or costs incurred. This warranty does not cover damage to the battery resulting from wilful misconduct or negligence, destruction due to a fire, collision, explosion or freezing, theft, charging or failure to maintain the battery, nor does this warranty cover damaged batteries that have been opened or tampered with in any way, including the introduction of any special additives or electrolytes. No implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for purpose shall be in effect beyond Thunder Battery's designated warranty period.

- Any modifications to the device.
- Use of the device for purposes not specified in the manual.
- Damage resulting from unintended or improper use and/or defective batteries.
- Humidity and/or insufficient ventilation.
- Unauthorized opening of battery box
Warranty Period
The warranty does not cover batteries that are out of warranty or have reached their normal end of life before the end of the warranty period. Note that the life of a battery varies depending on its application and use. It is therefore possible that a battery may reach its normal end of life before the end of the warranty period.
The warranty does not cover:
- Careless or abusive use
- Overdischarged batteries
- Overcharged batteries
- Frozen batteries
- Sulfated plates
- Introduction of chemicals or other products
- Use for an application that requires a more powerful battery
Any Physical Breakage
- Rusted and/or damaged post
- Damaged and/or deformed battery box
- Removed, damaged or erased manufacturing code
- Unauthorized modification
- Accident and/or collision
- Explosion
- Installation or jump start error
- Fire
Starter Batteries
Starter batteries come with a limited warranty on their CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). The warranty does not cover batteries that have reached their normal end of life before the end of the warranty period. Depending on the application, a battery may reach its normal end of life before the end of the warranty period (inadequate maintenance, overdischarging, too many charge/discharge cycles). The warranty does not cover dead and/or sulfated batteries. The warranty is void if the battery has short-circuited ("+" & "-" ends connected). The warranty is void if the connection posts or terminals have been improperly maintained. The warranty does not cover batteries that explode (overaccumulation of hydrogen around the battery, set off by a spark, arc, static electricity or heat source).
Deep-Cycle Batteries
Deep cycle batteries have a limited warranty on their reserve capacity (amperage). A battery's reserve capacity decreases with age.
Chargers, Jump Starters & Testers
The warranty applies when a product has a material or manufacturing defect attributable to the manufacturer during the warranty period.
The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage caused by:
- Improper connection and/or use.
- External force or damage to the device and/or device parts due to mechanical impact or overcharging.
- Damage resulting from unintended or improper use and/or defective batteries.
Chargers
The limited warranty is void if the unit has been opened or tampered with, if its terminal connections were reversed (reverse polarity), if it was exposed to a damp environment, etc.
Jump Starters
The limited warranty is void if the unit has been opened or tampered with, if its terminal connections were reversed (reverse polarity), if it was exposed to a damp environment, etc.
Testers
The limited warranty is void if the unit was opened or tampered with, if its terminal connections were reversed (reverse polarity), or if it was exposed to a damp environment, charged at a higher voltage than what it was designed for, etc.
Power Conversion
The warranty applies when a warranted product has a material or manufacturing defect attributable to the manufacturer during the warranty period.
The warranty does not cover:
- Defects resulting from improper installation, operation, commissioning or transport of the product
- Failure to comply with installation or maintenance instructions or standards
- Inadequate ventilation
- Work on the product guaranteed by a third party and not approved by the manufacturer
- Failure to comply with safety instructions, instruction manual or installation standards
- Modifications or unauthorized refurbishments
- Normal wear and tear
- Cases of force majeure (storm, lightning, surge, fire, etc.)
- External causes such as accidents or misuse
- Defects resulting from other installation components
- Damage that does not interfere with product's functionality ("cosmetic defects")
Inverters & Inverters/Chargers
Inverters come with a peak protection system. However, repeated power surges can cause cumulative damage to the unit's internal components over time. If the evaluation of a defective item reveals that the failure was caused by repeated power surges, this voids the warranty.
Converters
The limited warranty is void if the unit was opened or tampered with, if its terminal connections were reversed (reverse polarity), or if it was exposed to a damp environment, charged at a higher voltage than what it was designed for, etc.
Generators
Please refer to the owner's manual for warranty policies and service instructions.
Batteries
Rechargeable Batteries
Rechargeable batteries come with a limited performance warranty (80%+) for normal application. Batteries may reach their end of life before the end of the warranty period in the event of abusive or excessive use (limited number of charge/discharge cycles).
Non-rechargeable batteries
Non-rechargeable batteries do not come with a performance warranty (reserve and amperage). These batteries come with a guarantee that they work at the time of purchase ("DOA").
Renewable Energy
The warranty applies when a warranted product has a material or manufacturing defect attributable to the manufacturer during the warranty period.
Solar Panels
The warranty does not cover:
- Misuse, abuse, neglect or accidents
- Modification or incorrect installation (incorrect installation includes, but is not limited to, installation that does not comply with all of the manufacturer's installation, operation and maintenance instructions)
- Unauthorized repair or modification
- Conditions exceeding voltage, wind, snow load or other operational product specifications
- Power outages or surges
- Indirect or direct damage due to lightning, floods, fires or other acts of nature
- Damage caused by people, biological activity or exposure to industrial chemicals

Solar Controllers
The warranty applies when a warranted product has a material or manufacturing defect attributable to the manufacturer during the warranty period.
The warranty does not cover:
- Accidental damage or damage due to neglect, abuse or misuse.
- PV or charging currents that exceed the product's nominal value.
- Unauthorized product modification or attempted repair.
- Damage occurring in transit.
- Damage resulting from acts of nature such as lightning or extreme weather conditions.

Wind generators come with a limited performance warranty. The warranty is void in the event of physical breakage (impact, damaged blades, exposure to lightning, exposure of a terrestrial model to a marine environment [salt water/air]).
Pumps
Pumps have a limited warranty on their flow rate and pressure maintenance. The warranty is void in the event of infiltrates (sand, various debris, etc.) and in the presence of liquids other than water (solvents, gasoline, various chemicals, etc.) (except for pumps specifically designed for other types of liquids). The warranty is void if the pump has run dry for excessive periods.
Final Determination
If Thunder Battery or our partners determines—at sole discretion—that a battery is defective due to materials or workmanship, it will be honoured.
