Ontario Environmental Handling Fee (EHF)

This charge represents the Ontario Environmental Handling Fee (EHF) — a regulated fee applied to the sale of batteries in Ontario under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act. The EHF funds the responsible collection and recycling of used batteries, keeping hazardous materials out of landfills and supporting a circular economy.

This fee is set by Stewardship Ontario and is non-negotiable. It is applied per applicable battery unit purchased and is separate from the product price.
